Mexico

Mexico is a founding IMF member and has had a turbulent relationship with the fund. It was at the center of the 1982 Latin American debt crisis and the 1994-95 'Tequila Crisis', both requiring IMF intervention. Mexico later qualified for an IMF Flexible Credit Line (FCL), reflecting improved economic management. Today Mexico maintains its SDR holdings near allocation and is a net contributor to IMF resources.
